Built-in ID Verification

In the world of High-Compliance, the rules can change from one day to the other. Because of this, WAAVE focuses on developing features that help you roll with the changes.

We have now deployed ID Verification for products that require a hard ID check. For example, if you are shipping Kratom to Tennessee your buyer will have to upload their ID at checkout to ensure they are of legal age.

Our ID verification rules are based on Federal and State law and can be applied to entire verticals or just a few products.

• As these regulations change we will update which products require actual age verification.
• You will see your Age Verification activity and changes on a new page in your WAAVE Merchant Dashboard

• Charges will be processed on your credit card or through your bank account depending on your setup
• The cost for the program is included in your WaaveCompliance subscription.
• You will only pay-per-instance ($0.50) based on your monthly volume of verifications. WAAVE is not adding any additional margin to the cost of providing the service, we are simply passing through the used cost to each merchant. 

Affected verticals and products

1. All Vapes require ID and likeness checks to comply with the PACT Act
2. Kratom shipped to Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia require ID Verification
3. Delta 8 shipped to Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Alabama require ID Verification
4. Delta 9 shipped to Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee require ID Verification

We expect more products to require ID verification as there are multiple bills at State Senates calling for changes in the legislation of Cannabinoids and Kratom.

What does it look like?

1. Your buyer goes through the purchase process as usual

2. We added this statement to the checkout page: "The purchase of some of the products on this site might require ID verification to comply with Federal and State Regulations"

3. If the buyer has an item that requires an ID check it will automatically trigger the process, there are two steps and it takes under a minute to complete the check

Program costs

We are adding this service as part of your WaaveCompliance subscription, so no additional monthly fees will be added. In fact, you are saving $25  a month on a third-party service.

WAAVE will pass the cost of verification to the merchant without any added margins.
