How to avoid card testing fraud

WAAVE has a lot of tools to stop card testing from bad actors, we don't always disclose the logic behind the system because it would be the fraudsters too much information on how we operate.

But this is what we can tell you:

• WAAVE detects patterns and stops these transactions before they are processed
• Obviously, we need to differentiate an actual transaction from a malicious one, so some of these malicious transactions will go through as we give the "buyer" the benefit of the doubt.
• Once a buyer hits a threshold, the system freezes their account. If a customer tries to pay multiple times with the wrong info, they too might be blocked and need to contact us to reactivate their account.

Because fake payments generate a certain number of authorizations, they cost you money. 
To protect yourself from these attacks we suggest you add a CAPTCHA tool to your checkout. i
